I grew up very close to the Phoenix Park in Dublin and spent many happy times there with my family. It’s one of the largest enclosed parks in a city in Europe. These pictures were taken early-ish in the morning with a fairly intense sunrise – later covered over by a huge pile of cloud, as often happens in Ireland. The park is home to a huge herd of deer which wander freely around the place and are beautiful. I watched them in the trees for quite a while and the noise of the male’s antlers crashing against each other as they fight is pretty impressive. The last image in this set shows the Royal Hospital Kilmainham, home to the Irish Museum of Modern Art, with a fiery orange sky behind.
