New Members Of The Family

We've just adopted these two little guys from the pound. The white one above is Otto and this dark little fella below is Knuckles. We gave Knuckles his name to give him extra confidence as someone had left him alone tied to a tree and he was lacking a little bit. He seems to have gotten it back already though →

Battle Of The Boyne

Last Sunday, myself and Jason went along to the Battle Of The Boyne site near Drogheda as part of the lovely Peter Donegan's Garden Group. This is the third outing that Peter has organised and it was great as always. The Battle Of The Boyne site is run by the Office Of Public Works and it is set in spectacular →

The Harbour Pub, Portrush

The Harbour Pub is a purveyor of very fine Guinness, amongst other things.

Close Encounters Of The Bovine Kind

The big, gorgeous sloppy face of a cow in a field near our house. I think I came close to have a lens salived to death here.

Waiting

Talking Apples On Moore Street

Freak Out

These pictures were taken at the funfair in Portrush. The menfolk decided to have a go on the "Freak Out". I felt sick just looking at it. That's our friend Michael looking cool as a cucumber. Jason, directly over my head and upside down, pretending to be as cool as a cucumber. The sickening apparatus in full swing.

Two Men, Portrush

Just chatted to these two gents long enough to persuade them to sit still for a portrait snap, but not long enough to catch their names.

Cafe Portrush

I've been in Portrush in Northern Ireland for a couple of days visiting friends. Yesterday the sun was splitting the stones and I took a walk through the town "shooting from the hip". As you can see from the cropped and missing heads I haven't quite mastered it yet, but I like the idea of taking photographs of people going →

Santa’s Off-Season Gig

Taken a few months ago on Henry Street in Dublin.

Red Roses

El Presidente At Bloom

When I was at Bloom In The Park on Thursday, who did I bump into? Only Ireland's president Mary McAleese. Well I was actually about 10 feet away smelling flowers and attempting to snap bees when I saw the president and entourage meeting some of the staff in the walled garden. I think this is quite a nice smiling shot →

Lily

Another photo taken at Bloom 2010

Tony Lally & Willie Creighton, Woodturners At Bloom

Yesterday, along with some other lovely photowalkers, I was invited to the opening of the Bloom gardening festival in the Phoenix Park in Dublin. This is the third year of the festival and it features show gardens, food markets, cooking and DIY demonstrations and more. While I was walking around I met Tony Lally and Willy Creighton who were demonstrating →

Clarinet Player

Another picture from the Dublin Photowalk set which included yesterday's rocket ship. This gentleman was busking on the pedestrian bridge (the name of which I can't remember) past the Customs House in Dublin. This was taken before it started to lash out of the heavens.

Ready For Take Off

I took this 2 or 3 years ago on a photowalk in Dublin. It was a really dreary, wet day and we walked around the docks. This rocket was down at The Point / 02, which was being re-designed at the time.

Curry Chips Please, Love

A Cow & A Tree On A Hill On A Summer’s Day

Camel Guide Tunisia

This was taken on myself and Jason's honeymoon in Tunisia. We were on the edge of the Sahara and this man was wrangling a feisty camel. I think the expression on his face may say "bloody tourists" but I'm not sure.

Diarmuid O’Cathasaigh

Yesterday Jason and meself joined the second Garden Group outing with Peter Donegan. We had a lovely trip out to Ireland's Eye but before setting sail, this gentleman - Diarmuid O'Cathasaigh gave us a really informative talk about Howth and Ireland's Eye. Peter has put up a video of Diarmuid's talk on his site. I have more pictures which I'll →

Sun Going Down

Yesterday I started the day on the beach in Kerry and the weather was so lovely we drove back over to end the day on the beach too. Think I may have partially burned my retina off while taking the picture above, so changed over to camera with smaller lens to get an overview of the scene below.

This Morning On The Beach

I'm staying in Listowel for a few days and the weather has been glorious to say the least. Two solid days of summer so far. Went over to nearby Ballybunion early this morning for a nice walk on a near deserted beach.

I Would Like 6 Of Your Finest Doughnuts Good Sir

This is another picture from last weekend's photowalk in Galway. Not only did this man give me the time of day, he posed very nicely for me when I asked if I could take his picture.
