I Would Like 6 Of Your Finest Doughnuts Good Sir
This is another picture from last weekend's photowalk in Galway. Not only did this man give me the time of day, he posed very nicely for me when I asked if I could take his picture.
Eolai
Lots of highlights from the past weekend in Galway. One of them was the great pleasure of meeting artist Eolai at the Irish Blog Awards.
Bird Of Prey
I'm kind of embarrassed to say I don't know if this is a hawk or an eagle (National Geographic puts down the phone), but I do know this is a beautiful bird and it kills and eats small animals. *Update* Thank you to Stephen who has identified this bird as a crow peregrine falcon.
Dogface
A slightly scary busker/dog impersonator seen near Covent Garden in London.
A Very Happy Day
On Saturday we went to Martina and Liam's wedding. The bride was beautiful, the groom was lovely, the weather was fantastic and the company was superb. All in all it was a very happy day.
Bee At Work
This is a picture from last summer, on one of the days it wasn't raining. A little bee at work.
Waiting Tables At The Tate
I took this out the window of the top floor of Tate Modern in London. I love the pink tables and chairs.
Little Church (For St. Patrick’s Day)
On this day in 460 A.D., Saint Patrick, Christian missionary, bishop & apostle of Ireland, died at Saul, Downpatrick, Ireland. Now this picture has absolutely nothing to do with St. Patrick and it's not taken in Downpatrick either, but it just felt like it could be related. It was taken near Crookhaven in Cork.
Old Blue Face
Was driving on a country road and saw this guy. I literally did a double take and had to reverse back. He was absolutely huge and quite scary looking to be honest.
On Eastbourne Pier
These were taken last year on a visit to lovely East Sussex in England. This was a pretty dull day and even though it was the middle of summer, the pier at Eastbourne wasn't too busy. I like the difference in mood between the people in the picture above and the ladies in the pic below.
Forest Boys
Met these two gorgeous little fellas on the way into a forest in India. They were very cute and curious. Also on the way, we passed this hand lettered sign, a nice reminder of what the forest is all about.
House At The Foot Of The Mountain
More from the journey across the Cork and Kerry Mountains. That's one of the MacGillycuddy's Reeks. I had a very patient husband who stopped the car for me to take pics quite frequently on the way home.
Cross On The Healy Pass
This statue of the crucifiction is at the top of the winding mountain road between Cork and Kerry on the Healy Pass.
Glassy Lake
We drove over to Lough Lene fairly early this morning as it was such a beautiful start to the day. It's about 10K from where we live. This morning was nippy but with a lovely blue sky. There wasn't a ripple on the lake.
Dursey Island Cable Car
The cable car connects Dursey Island to mainland Ireland. As well as carrying people, it also takes livestock across the 200m stretch of Atlantic. The cable car in these pictures is the new one which replaced the previous "biscuit tin" last year. It is amazingly quiet. When it was passing directly over my head I could actually hear the people →
