Looking Back At Castletownbere

Took this pretty early in the morning. It’s the view from one of the mountains back down onto the town of Castletownbere in West Cork. It was freezing cold with a bit of a mist and a light dusting of snow on the mountain to the left.
Brilliant. We went to Castletownbere nearly every summer. My G&G lived there up in the hills. Fantastic place that I have very fond memories of . That mountain is called Hungry Hill, and my Grandfather had some music published about it.
this is THE place where we spent our first summer in ireland… ±3 decades ago. been there a couple of times since, never saw it like this.
Hi Elliot and Aafke. It’s just so stunning down here on these peninsulas it would nearly make you cry (whilst being happy to be here)
Elliot that is so cool that your grandad wrote music about Hungry Hill. Was just talking to some locals today about that mountain.
