We met Manfred in Port Mogan in the Canaries last year. He was getting ready to move to a new destination by boat. He’s a highly educated, interesting character who decided many years ago that he didn’t want any belongings and gave up a normal 9-5 existence and everything he owned. He’s been to every continent and works his way around by doing odd jobs and massages and hitching lifts by boat, train and car. Meeting him was undoubtedly one of the highlights of our holiday.
