Whitehead Beach, Antrim, Northern Ireland

We went to visit some friends in Portrush, Northern Ireland this week and drove home on the beautiful scenic route around the cliffs of Antrim. The weather was sunny, blustery and freezing, great for getting rid of the cobwebs! Below you can get a better idea of the scale of the fabulous Whitehead beach.

Two fab shots and the scale is immense when you have people to measure the landscape against. Really nicely done!
Beautiful shots. I can feel the crisp breeze and the light is so “sharp” too. Must take a spin up that direction soon.
Wow, breathtaking!
Lovely shots Jennifer, looks like you got the good weather for it.
Antrim Coast Road is terrific for ‘tog day trips too.
Must get myself up there for some shots soon.
Thanks Stephen. That beach is truly ginormous. It’s really wow stuff when you pull up in the car and catch a glimpse.
Thanks Danny, yep the breeze would cut you in half. It is a really lovely rugged part of the country.
The Antrim coast area is my favourite part of the country. These photos are fantastic and really capture the rugged beauty of the beach. Got any more photos of the Antrim coast?
Thanks Matt. I think your ancestors are from somewhere around that neck of the woods aren’t they?
Thanks Davy. Yeah we were really lucky with the weather that morning. I’ve been up there loads of times and it’s been grey sky blending into grey sea with no horizon, so the weather Gods where being kind!
Thanks Jason. Yep, I’ve loads of Antrim pics, will put them up over time. Stay tuned!
